Cooperative Service Robots for the Predictive Maintenance of Process Plants

چکیده
In this contribution we outline a new project in the field of service robotics. The goal is to develop teams of mobile robots that perform routine inspection, health monitoring, and early fault detection in large chemical process plants or in public utility networks. We envisage a general-purpose assistant for the maintenance engineer to collect, compress and screen large amounts of inspection data. It will provide fast and extensive coverage of large or hard-to-access plant structures by employing non-contact sensors: an infrared camera, a laser scanner (mainly for navigation and mapping purposes), electronic micro noses, and non-destructive test sensors. Objects of primary interest are isolated vessels, pipe ducts, heating or cooling aggregates, valves, flanges, pumps, fans, filters, and electrical equipment. As a mobile network of sensors continuously observing the process from outside the vehicles supplement today's process control systems with stationary networks of in-line sensors. The paper focuses on three aspects: the demand for such a novelty in inspection and maintenance, the overall system concept, and main scientific challenges to solve.

Cooperative Control of Mobile Robots in Creating a Runway Platform for Quadrotor Landing
Multi-agent systems are systems in which several agents accomplish a mission in a cooperative manner. In this paper, a novel idea for the construction of a movable runway platform based on multi-agent systems is presented. It is assumed that an aerial agent (quadrotor) decides to make an emergency landing due to reasons such as a decrease in energy level or technical failure, while there is no ...
متن کاملA Dynamic Fuzzy Expert System Based on Maintenance Indicators for Service Type Selection of Machinery
Due to the multiplicity of standards and complex rules; maintenance, repair and servicing of machinery could be done only by the fully qualified and proficient experts. Since the knowledge of such experts is not available all times, using expert systems can help to improve the maintenance process. To address this need and the uncertainty of the maintenance process indicators, this research prop...

The Circuit Breaker (CB) is one of the most important equipment in power systems. CB must operate reliably to protect power systems as well as to perform tasks such as load disconnection, normal interruption, and fault current interruption. Therefore, the reliable operation of CB can affect the security and stability of power network. In this paper, effects of Condition Monitoring (CM) of CB on...

This paper employs nonlinear disturbance observer (NDO) for robust trajectory-free Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC) of biped robots. The NDO is used to reject the additive disturbances caused by parameter uncertainties, unmodeled dynamics, joints friction, and external slow-varying forces acting on the biped robots. In contrary to the slow-varying disturbances, handling sudden pushing ...
